Lors du PPV SummerSlam 97 à East Rutherford, New-Jersey le 3 Août 1997, Mankind battait Hunter Hearst Helmsley dans un "steel cage match" en s'échappant par le toit après avoir porté une descente du coude du haut de la cage.

Goldust battait Brian Pillman avec un "sunset flip" après que Marlena ne frappe Pillman au visage et remportait ainsi un "Loser Wears A Dress Match. Au vue de la stipulation première du match Pillman était obligé de porter une robe devant les caméras de TV tant qu'il ne remportait pas un combat.

The Legion of Doom battaient Henry et Phineas Godwinn quand Road Warrior Hawk réalisait le tombé sur Henry suite à un "spike piledriver".

Le Champion Européen, Davey Boy Smith battait Ken Shamrock par disqualification quand le challenger frappait le champion avec des objets illégaux. Après le combat, Shamrock se débarassait de plusieurs officiels.

Savio Vega, Miguel Perez, Jesus Castillo et José battaient Crush, Skull, 8-Ball et Chainz (a/k/a Brian Lee) quand Miguel réalisait le tombé sur Chainz grâce à un "elbow drop" après qu'Ahmed Johnson ne porte son "Pearl River Plunge" au sol sur Chainz. Après le combat, DOA et la Nation se bagarraient à l'extérieur du ring alors que les Boricuas repartaient en arrière-scène.

Steve Austin réalisait le tombé sur le champion Intercontinental, Owen Hart avec un "roll up" pour remporter le titre Intercontinental. Juste avant la fin du combat, Owen Hart portait un "piledriver" qui allait blesser réellement Austin au cou.

Bret Hart réalisait le tombé sur le Champion du monde de la WWF, l'Undertaker pour remporter le titre quand l'arbitre spécial, Shawn Michaels, frappait accidentellement le champion à la tête avec une chaise. Après le match, le Undertaker courait après Shawn Michaels en arrière-scène. Si Bret Hart n'avait pu remporter le combat et le titre, jamais plus il n'aurait pu lutter aux USA.
